She tipped her scythe to the left and a bolt of red light shot across the room, right at Sam. The magic swirled around him and whilst Sam braced for pain, the light faded a moment later and he was left unharmed. He was however, freed from Matt’s magical hold.
“What did you do to me?” Sam asked, cautiously returning to the Reaper.
“Life-Twined Curse,” she said and touched her chest, the same red lights momentarily flaring around her as well. She set her sights on Matt. “My life-force is tied to Bait’s. Try to destroy me, you’ll end up killing your precious Spirit Rider in the process.”
